The 10 Commandments of Epistemology

I’ve made the plunge and I purchased the Atheos app. I highly recommend you do so as well if you are a lover of knowledge and would like to be better at having discussions with people that have ideas that differ from your own. While the app mostly applies to having discussions about religion, I’ve found myself using the method for navigating political/social issues too. Thoughts on Religion & Atheism

Research ideas, defense of religion, attacks on atheism, creation and evolution etc.

I’m in a number of Facebook groups that discuss atheism and theism. Usually I am a silent observer as I read through the threads. Sometimes I have a few thoughts that I feel like jotting down, which is what this article is; a hodge podge of ideas. I’ll organize as I go, and if a section gets big enough I’ll break it into its own post.

Proof of God

Common arguments for the existence of god and their refutations.

In conversations with theists, here are a number of ideas I’ve been told are “proof of god”. I will start with saying a few things:

First, this discussion cannot exist in the scientific realm. The reason? A scientist does not start with an answer and then cherry pick observations that support that answer. It can only exist in the philosophical realm where both sides present arguments for and against the existence of a god. Continue reading “Proof of God”
